About Blue Horizon
The staff at Blue Horizon has extensive experience and training working with those suffering from eating disorders. All Clinical staff have advanced degrees in their field of expertise. The directors of Blue Horizon have work experience in acute, residential and outpatient care. It is recognized that patients, families and professionals in the community are looking for education and guidance to meet individual treatment goals. Beyond the excellent clinical care received in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and the Partial Day Program (PHP), training and case management services will be provided using the most current information available regarding insurance coverage, treatment options and researched data based education. At all levels of service, our staff remains sensitive to the financial and emotional burden of eating disorder treatment. Communication with family, insurance representatives and all care team professionals is a top priority of each of our staff.

Meet the staff
Dr. Lall is a Florida licensed physician holding two certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology: General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Before joining the Blue Horizon team, Dr. Lall graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida and from St. George’s University School of Medicine, and completed her psychiatry residency and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. As medical director at Blue Horizon, she provides assessment and care to our patients, and treats the full spectrum of psychiatric, behavioral, developmental and personality disorders.
Before joining Blue Horizon, Christina Purkiss, MA, LMHC, CEDS worked with individuals with eating disorders, as well as various other clinical disorders including substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. A licensed mental health counselor and certified eating disorder specialist, Christina provides individual therapy, family sessions, group therapy, and education groups to patients. Her therapeutic approach involves implementing different types of therapies into treatment plans, like dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Christina strives to develop a therapeutic relationship consisting of trust, respect, and collaboration in an effort to create an a safe environment for recovery.
Director of Nutritional Services
Kurry Friedell, MA, RD, LD/N, CEDRD is a licensed, registered dietitian with a master’s degree in human and health sciences. Her diverse clinical background includes pediatrics, ketogenic diet planning, bariatric, renal, cardiovascular and critical care for individuals of all ages. At Blue Horizon, Kurry facilitates nutrition groups and meal experiences and cares for patients individually. She is a board member of the Central Florida International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Chapter and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Orlando Dietetic Association and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
Stefanie Rivera Cuba
As one of Blue Horizon’s clinical dieticians, Stefanie Rivera Cuba MS, RD, LD/N facilitates nutrition assessments, education, process groups and meal experiences. With a clinical dietetics background including medical nutrition therapy for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, ketogenic diet planning and eating disorders, she provides critical care for individuals of all ages. Before joining our team, Stefanie obtained her master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of North Florida and worked with eating disorder clients under Dr. Kratina at Nutrition Therapy Associates in Gainesville, Florida.
Deanna McCaskill, MS, LMHC is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. She received her Master of Science in mental health counseling in 2011 from Capella University and Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2006 from the University of Central Florida. Her prior experience includes working in inpatient and partial hospitalization settings with adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders. Deanna brings invaluable experience to Blue Horizon as she has also helped many individuals work through a variety of mental health issues and co-occurring disorders, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, psychosis, and behavioral issues.
Chelsea Cook, RD, LD/N facilitates nutrition education, meal exposure, process groups, and family sessions at Blue Horizon. She is also a clinical dietitian in the Orlando Recovery Center’s eating disorder track and at the Next Generation Village in Sebring, Florida. In addition to her current work, Chelsea is adding to her repertoire and working toward becoming a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian. Prior to joining The Recovery Village’s network of rehab centers, Chelsea graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital with an emphasis in clinical nutrition.
Noelle Selochan, LMFT, Registered Play Therapist, received a Master of Arts degree in marriage, couple, and family therapy from the University of Central Florida, and is trained in EMDR trauma therapy. Her past work includes working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, and relational distress, through a variety of counseling modalities. As a therapist with Blue Horizon, she provides individual counseling, facilitates therapeutic education groups and provides family sessions to bolster each individual’s treatment process. An advocate off the clock as well, Noelle helps raise awareness about eating disorders and fundraises for eating disorder treatment with the National Eating Disorder Association.
As a family nurse practitioner, Judith Faustin-Gabriel, ARNP, FNP-BC provides medical care for patients in the partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Blue Horizon. Judith treats the full spectrum of primary care across settings, including the provision of care at initial visit for undifferentiated conditions, ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions, health promotion, and care coordination. Her focus is on health promotion, disease prevention, health education and counseling, and guiding patients to make smarter health and lifestyle choices. Outside of Blue Horizon, she is also an International Public Health (IPH) provider and a current member of the American Public Health Association (APHS) and the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WCPH).
Community Outreach Associate
As marketing coordinator for Blue Horizon, Sara Dreier applies her marketing and communications skills to being an advocate for mental health and eating disorders. A graduate of Florida State University, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in editing, writing and media. Before joining our team, Sara worked as a community outreach coordinator for a treatment facility in Tallahassee, Florida. There, she organized the city’s first NEDA Walk, raising more than $10,000 to benefit the National Eating Disorders Association. In recovery from an eating disorder herself, Sara makes her commitment to helping others her passion, and hopes to make a difference in the Central Florida community and beyond.
Business Office Manager
Michelle Lawson brings a wealth of experience to her role of business office manager at Blue Horizon, with more than 17 years in the healthcare industry (clinical, billing, coding, auditing and reimbursement). Prior to joining our team, Michelle obtained her bachelor’s degree in business management and worked for multiple inpatient facilities and a large multi-specialty physician practice. Beyond orchestrating all office operations, Michelle loves researching compliance and coding issues.
Utilization Review Specialist
Ever since she moved to Orlando, Florida in 2007, Shanika Jones has accrued more than nine years of clinical experience working with individuals of all ages. As a licensed mental health counselor, she has worked with children and adolescents in foster care facilities, families in the school system, and with those who have intellectual and/or physical disabilities. While working with dual diagnosis patients, Shanika began her transition from therapist to utilization reviewer. Before joining Blue Horizon in 2016, Shanika attained her undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling psychology degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Eating Disorder Technician
Before assuming her new role at Blue Horizon, Emily Reyes graduated from Florida State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in family and child sciences. Previously, Emily worked at a local university advising adults, and in the research department of Florida State University to study children’s memory processes.
